It is an annual tradition at ICS for Eighth graders to complete the Independent Art Project. Students are given a rubric outlining the expectations and requirements. Each student researches an Artist influence and then creates three sketches of their ideas. As each student obtains final approval from their teacher, they begin their artwork. Once their artwork is finished they complete a Google slide presentation to share with the ICS community. Each student is required to complete the Independent Project prior to graduation. This year due to Covid-19 students were expected to complete their Independent projects using materials that were available to them at home.
Each project is a unique reflection of our students artistic interests. They were tasked with presenting a five minute video sharing their thoughts, artist inspirations, favorite subject content area/s, artistic medium and mission statement of ICS. I am proud of the work they have done and encourage the families, students and administrators to review the posted videos below. Congratulations to the 2019-2020 Eighth Grade ICS class!
